Other Medicinal Mushrooms

Reishi, chaga and cordyceps are the three most powerful, immune-boosting medicinal mushrooms. However, all medicinal mushrooms have serious beneficial effects on the immune system and the brain.

There are other medicinal mushrooms that are also very powerful and have been shown be immensely beneficial for our brain health, immune sysem and overall health. These mushrooms include:

Maitake is a dangerously powerful medicinal mushroom that “they” don’t want you to know about. It is effective at shrinking tumors and beating cancers and has been studies and shown to inhibit tumor growth and kill cancer cells. In fact, maitake is probably the most powerful herb for eliminating tumors and cancers and boosting the immune system.

I have known people who used to maitake for a few months and found that their tumors have disappeared after a few months of taking maitake regularly. Such stories are very common and if you do more research on maitake you’ll stumble upon countless stories and reports of people using maitake to heal cancers, tumors, viruses, and other diseases.

In fact, there are countless reviews and stories online of people using maitake to overcome their cancer.

Ongoing research with human cancer patients has shown that a specific portion of the maitake mushroom, called the ‘MD-fraction,’ can inhibit tumor growth.

this mushroom (Grifola frondosa) is commonly called “hen of the woods,” since its frond-like growths resemble the feathers of a fluffed chicken.
Several researchers corroborate that maitake causes apoptosis (“programmed suicide”) of cancer cells and contains anti-angionenesis properties. That means they can restrict the proliferation of bloods cells that feed tumors. One reason may be that maitake mushroom fruitbodies are rich in complex polysaccharides, in particular the heavy and complex 1,3; 1,4; and 1,6 beta-D-glucans.

known to activate significant immune responses, enhancing the ability of immune cells (neutrophils and natural killer cells) to kill and consume lung and breast cancer cells (Deng et al. 2009;Lin, 2011).

maitake may have the potential to decrease the size of lung, liver, and breast tumors.

Thus maitake D-Fraction appears to repress cancer progression and primarily exerts its effect through stimulation of NK activity. In addition, we conclude that measurement of NK cell activity may be a useful clinical parameter in monitoring disease progression during and following immunotherapy with maitake D-Fraction.

Maitake is best known for its cancer-fighting properties. In 2009, a phase I/II human trial was conducted by Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, and it showed that maitake extract stimulates the immune systems of breast cancer patients. The results of the study were published in the Journal of Cancer Research and Clinical Oncology.

A study published in the Townsend Letter for Doctors and Patients, Feb/Mar 1996 involving 165 individuals with advanced cancer used MDF. This form of maitake was found effective against leukemia as well as stomach and bone cancers.

A Japanese clinical study investigated the effectiveness of administering a combination of MDF and whole maitake powder on 36 cancer patients ranging in age from 22 to 57 years old, who were in stages II to IV. Cancer regression or significant symptom improvement was observed in 11 of 16 breast cancer patients (68.8%); 7 of 12 liver cancer patients (58.3%); and 5 of 8 lung cancer patients (62.5%).
Maitake mushrooms are also eaten raw or cooked, however most of the medicinal properties and value are in the Maitake D-Fraction and in extracts of maitake that come in campsule or tincture form (both the alcohol soluble and the water soluble parts are needed for the fastest results).

Maitake mushroom (Grifola frondosa) MD-fraction containing beta-1,6 glucan with beta-1,3 branched chains has previously exhibited strong anticancer activity by increasing immune-competent cell activity.1,2 In this non-random case series, a combination of MD-fraction and whole maitake powder was investigated to determine its effectiveness for 22- to 57-year-old cancer patients in stages II-IV. Cancer regression or significant symptom improvement was observed in 58.3 percent of liver cancer patients, 68.8 percent of breast cancer patients, and 62.5 percent of lung cancer patients. The trial found a less than 10-20 percent improvement for leukemia, stomach cancer, and brain cancer patients.

I have been studying medicinal mushrooms for the last 15 years and have reported that of all mushrooms studied, Maitake Mushroom (Grifola frondosa) has the strongest activity in tumor growth inhibition

If you know of someone who is suffering from cancer, it may be helpful if you brought maitake into their awareness or sent them a copy of this book.

Maitake (Pron. “my-tah-key”) is indigenous to northern part of Japan. The basket-ball sized mushroom, weighing sometimes over 50 pounds, grows on the foot of old Japanese oak trees. For hundreds of years, this rare and tasty mushroom has been prized in traditional Japanese herbology.

In addition to its antitumor effect, anti-hypertension, anti-diabetes, anti-obesity and anti-hepatitis activities have been found in Maitake. Its anti-HIV activity was also confirmed by both Japan National Institute of Health and U.S. National Cancer Institute in early 1992.

Among the various fractions in the process of standardization of the mushroom extraction, it is known that Maitake D-fraction is most potent in enhancing the immune system, demonstrating highest cancer inhibition in oral administration.

Maitake D-fraction has strong ability to potentiate and activate the cellular immune system.

A number of animal tests have confirmed Maitake’s strong ability in cancer inhibition.7-10 but human trials have not been conducted until recently. A non-randomized clinical study using D-fraction was conducted to see if it is effective against advanced cancer patients as it is against animals. A total of 165 cancer patients in stage III-IV, from 25-65 years old, participated in the study and the data was collected under the cooperation of their medical doctors with major university hospitals and cancer treatment clinics in the western part of Japan. Patients were either taking Maitake D-fraction with crude powder tablets only, or Maitake D-fraction, crude tablets in addition to chemotherapy. Tumor regression or significant symptom improvements was observed in 11 out of 15 breast cancer patients, 12 out of 18 lung cancer patients and 7 out of 15 liver cancer patients.

Maitake does not kill cancer cells directly. It stimulates the activities of immune-competent cells and potentiates their action against cancer cells. Chemotherapy is supposed to kill cancer cells directly.

study indicated that Maitake D-fraction is effective against such cancers of the breast, lung, liver, prostate and brain.

it is said that the late President Ronald Reagan took it for his cancer treatment.

Agaricus – is a mushroom that originated in the rain forests of Brazil. The mushroom thrives in certain tropical areas of China and the Chinese have become the premier growers of Agaricus to the world. Agaricus is traditionally known as “God’s Mushroom” because of its wide range of health benefits. Agaricus is an extremely popular dietary supplement in Japan. The Japanese are the main consumers in the world of this tonic mushroom.

A few decades ago, researchers noticed that in the mountain region of Ideate near Sao Paulo, Brazil, a regular part of the local inhabitants` diet was a mushroom known as “Cogmelo de Deus” or “Mushroom of God”. The researchers also noted that the local inhabitants were extraordinarily healthy and had a very low incidence of disease, which they attributed to this magical mushroom.

Agaricus mushroom is the richest known natural source of Beta-1,6-D-glucan and Beta-1,3-D-glucan.*

The ABM mushroom contains Beta-(1-3)-D-glucan, Beta-(1-4)-a-D-glucan & Beta-(1-6)-D-glucan. Known collectively as Beta-glucans, these long-chain polysaccharides are the most potent immuno-potentiating (immune enhancing) substances yet found. They also have very powerful anti-tumor properties. When human subjects are given AMB in their diet, a 3000% increase of NK cells, a type of anti-tumor white blood cell known as Natural Killer cells, is seen in the blood within 2-4 days.
There are many verified reports from around the world of this mushroom being used successfully in late stage cancers that had been determined hopeless and some clinics in Europe base their entire treatment protocols on agaricus blazei murrill mushroom extracts and other complimentary botanicals. In fact, in many published studies, the rate of cure for all types of cancer has been in the high ninety percentile range, even for stage 4 lung cancer, where many complete remissions are often seen in just a few weeks.

List of medicinal mushrooms, then mention mushroom blend products like 24 or 12 mushrom blend.
